"Art transcends borders, and in this Summer Salon d’Art, we celebrate unity through creativity."
Summer Salon d’Art takes inspiration from one of the most influential traditions in art history: the Paris Salon. Founded in the 17th century by the Académie des Beaux-Arts, the Salon became the central stage for artists in France, known for its famously dense, floor-to-ceiling displays and open invitation to both academic and independent voices. It was not only a public celebration of art but a site of debate, discovery, and evolution.
Building on that legacy, Summer Salon d’Art also draws from the Royal Academy of Arts’ annual Summer Exhibition in London, a contemporary continuation of the salon spirit. Democratic in its selection and vibrant in its presentation, it offers a space where emerging and established talents exhibit side by side.
At Galerie Renaissance, we present our own version of this tradition. A contemporary twist on the salon format, showcasing 27 artists from Geneva, across Switzerland, and beyond. With a diverse and energetic array of paintings, drawings, and prints, this exhibition juxtaposes classical forms with contemporary expressions, creating a lively dialogue between past and present, tradition and innovation.
But Summer Salon d’Art is more than a curatorial homage. In a time when geopolitical divides, cultural polarization, and global uncertainty continue to shape our reality, this exhibition offers a counterpoint. It is a celebration of unity through creativity. A gathering of artistic voices that demonstrates how we can live, think, and create alongside one another, in difference and in harmony.
Let this show be a reminder that art transcends borders. And in its shared language, we find connection. Here, in this salon of our time, we invite you to engage with a community of creators and explore the richness of contemporary expression, together.
