Galerie Renaissance presents Give Us Back the Beauty*, a solo exhibition by Swiss artist Bernard Garo (b. 1964, Geneva), whose multidisciplinary work spans painting, photography, and film.
For over three decades, Garo has explored the fragile relationship between humanity and nature through a material and poetic language that bridges art and science. His practice transforms pigments, sediments, and glacier water into meditations on time, memory, and transformation.
This exhibition brings together recent paintings on paper, works created on 19th-century Dufour topographic maps, and large-scale photographic compositions capturing glaciers in transition. Together, they trace a visual and emotional cartography of the planet’s changing ice — from serenity and energy to fragmentation and disappearance.
Rather than lamenting loss, Give Us Back the Beauty* reflects Garo’s enduring commitment to reveal transformation as a form of resilience. His works serve as both testimony and renewal — inviting viewers to see beauty not as something nostalgic, but as something still possible.
The exhibition coincides with the artist’s ongoing international recognition, including his film Torrential Lava (2025), nominated for the Jury Prize at the International Glacier Film Festival in Geneva December 2025 and presented at the Earth Film Festival in Brazil.
