José Yaruro, born in 1979 in Bucaramanga, Colombia, and raised in Abejales, Venezuela, is a self-taught artist recognized for his exceptional hyperrealistic paintings.
From an early age, he demonstrated remarkable artistic talent, which later evolved into a distinguished career after a chance encounter with a professional painter led to significant commissions. His works have since been exhibited in prestigious venues, including a portrait of Simón Bolívar at the National Pantheon of Venezuela.
In 2019, Yaruro relocated to Pietrasanta, Italy, where he expanded his artistic practice by studying sculpture. His current works combine his passion for hyperrealism with classical Greco-Roman themes, creating a unique blend of historical reverence and modern artistic innovation. Through these pieces, Yaruro explores deep philosophical themes such as materialism, prosperity, and the complex relationship between past and present.
His works invite viewers to explore both the visible and invisible dimensions of reality, making him a prominent figure in contemporary art today.
