Didier Van Der Borght is a French artist of Dutch origin whose photographic practice explores the expressive potential of ordinary materials and natural forms. Working at the intersection of photography, observation, and abstraction, he creates images that reveal unexpected worlds hidden within the familiar.
Rather than documenting reality, Van Der Borght transforms it. Through a meticulous process of observation and framing, he captures fragments of matter—plastic, vegetation, organic textures, and everyday materials—which, once isolated, take on new identities. His photographs often oscillate between abstraction and figuration, evoking silhouettes, landscapes, or living forms that seem suspended between presence and disappearance.
Light, texture, movement, and transformation play a central role in his work. By drawing attention to subtle details and overlooked elements, he invites viewers to reconsider their relationship with the material world and to discover beauty in what is often ignored or discarded.
His practice is driven by a fascination with perception and the poetic possibilities of visual ambiguity. Through photography, Van Der Borght creates contemplative images that encourage personal interpretation while exploring themes of impermanence, memory, and metamorphosis.
